Es como pienso. No puedo teorizar. Tiendo a rehacer las partes de vida con mis manos para saber cómo pensar en ellas, a deconstruir el mundo para saber vivir en él. Y también está simplemente la alegría de construir un objeto hermoso, encuadrar, coreografiar los movimientos de los intérpretes, ajustar cómo y cuándo ellos dicen sus líneas, responder a la luz, grabar los sonidos. ¡Y luego el montaje! Hacer cine es la manera que tengo de entrar a la vida del mundo. Es la forma alcanzada por mi conciencia para estar vivo, que incluye muchas cosas: las ideas, el deseo sensual, opiniones, miedos, pero sobre todo preguntas.

It’s how I think. I can’t theorize. I tend to re-make parts of life with my hands in order to know how to think about them, to deconstruct the world in order to know how to live in it. And then there is just the joy of building a beautiful object, framing, choreographing the movements of the performers, adjusting how and when they say their lines, responding to light, recording noises. And then the editing! Filmmaking is how I enter into the life of the world. It’s the form achieved by my awareness of being alive, which includes many things: ideas, sensual desire, opinions, fears, but mostly questions.
