No hice nada creativo ni de artes visuales hasta que cumplí 25 años, pero filmo porque cada vez que veo una secuencia editada que considero interesante me digo… “¡La puta madre, es realmente genial!”. Me da mucho placer cuando veo algo que hice y sorprendido me digo: “¡Yo hice eso! ¡No lo puedo creer!”. Yo no me considero un artista, no tengo ese nivel de inmersión total en el mundo. Todavía me considero un amateur de algún modo y filmar es un verdadero placer. Además, filmo para llegar a conocer a ciertas personas en verdad interesantes, personas que uno siempre admiró y de pronto estás frente a frente con esas personas, conversando u observándolas. ¡Todo eso es fantástico! Y también porque me encanta jugar con las cámaras. Eso también es importante.
(April 19th 2012 11:00am) Why do I make film?
I didn’t do anything creative nor related to visual arts until I was 25, but I film because every time I see an edited sequence that I think is interesting I say; “holly shit! This is awesome! It gives me great pleasure when I see something I did and say: “I did that?” I can’t believe it!” I don’t consider myself an artist; I don’t have that level of total immersion in the world. I still consider myself an amateur in a way, and filming is enjoyable. Moreover, I film to get the chance to meet rally interesting people, some I have always admired and suddenly they are there, face-to-face and you´re talking to them and observing them. Everything is fantastic! I also love playing with the cameras, that’s important, too.
