Si supiera la respuesta tal vez no habría secretos, no habría misterio en mi cine. Pero si tuviera que decir algo… uno siempre tiene la imagen de la película que quisiera hacer, es una búsqueda, una interminable búsqueda. Eso es tal vez lo más asombroso del cine, que siempre estás buscando la película que te gustaría hacer pero que nunca sos capaz de hacer. Esa búsqueda es la motivación para seguir filmando.

If I’d knew the answer maybe there wouldn’t be any secret, there wouldn’t be any mystery in my films. But if I have to say something… you always have the idea of the film you would like to do, it’s a search, an endless search. That is maybe the most amazing thing of making films: you are always searching for the film you would like to do but you are never able to do it. That search is what moves me to keep doing it.
