Para mí, las películas son un modo de entender el mundo en el que vivimos. Las culturas diferentes, las emociones, el modo del que vemos y sentimos el uno sobre el otro y sobre este mundo que habitamos. Pienso que hago películas debido a esta curiosidad sobre la naturaleza humana y sobre entender mejor al mundo. Para mí hacer cine es la más completa experiencia de representar la vida, con sus defectos y lados oscuros, tanto como sus momentos positivos y esperanzadores. Necesito sentirme conectada a este mundo que no siempre entiendo, y pienso que muchas personas se sienten del mismo modo. Como realizadora quiero dar esa experiencia de pertenencia y conexión al público. Pero también pienso que la vida no puede ser totalmente entendida, por eso hago películas, para ser capaz de generar preguntas, no dar respuestas.

For me, films are a way to understand the world we live in. The different cultures, the emotions, the way we see and feel about each other and this world we live in. I think I make films because of this curiosity to human nature and to understand the world better. For me filmmaking is the most complete experience of representing life, with its flaws and dark sides as much as its positive and hopeful moments. I need to feel connected to this world I don’t always understand, and I think many people feel the same way. As a filmmaker I want to give that experience of belonging and connection to the audiences. But I also think that life can not be fully understood, so I make films, to be able to ask questions, not to give answers.
