Hacer cine y otras formas de arte que persigo no son tanto un medio de expresión como un medio de investigación. La idea inicial es más bien una pregunta apremiante que extenderá y coloreará mis curiosidades como la tinta en el agua.
“Hago” –“o filmo”– porque tengo que hacerlo. Es como adquiero sentido de mi entorno. Exploro, diseco, y sin parar analizo complejidades sutiles, eventualmente encontrando conexiones que me conducen a nuevas yuxtaposiciones que forman nuevas preguntas.
Las respuestas a estas preguntas apremiantes conforman los fundamentos de una película. Y si una película no es la respuesta para un espectador, mi esperanza es que al menos los inspire para hacer preguntas similares.

Filmmaking and other art forms I pursue are not as much a means of expression as they are a means of investigation. The initial idea is more like a pressing question which will spread and colour my curiosities like ink in water.
I “make” –or I “film”– because I have to. It’s how I make sense of my surroundings. I explore, dissect, and endlessly analyze subtle intricacies, eventually finding connections that lead me to new juxtapositions that form new questions.
The answers to these pressing questions form the foundations of a film. And if a film is not the answer to a viewer, my hope is it will at the very least inspire them to ask similar questions.
